About The Support Agency
The Support Agency was founded in 2023. It grew out of a deep desire to assist older people to thrive and have the best quality of life throughout their life span. In order to accomplish this, Dr. Lynda Wilkerson, Executive Director realized that ageism must be addressed as it affects all areas of society.
Ageism is defined as stereotypes, prejudices, and assumptions about people based upon age. It benefits society to address ageism as everyone is aging and all hope to live productive lives.
The Board of The Support Agency is comprised of individuals who share this vision. It is a diverse board made up of persons over 60, persons of various races and ethnicities, (African American, Caucasian, and Hispanic), persons with lived experience with substance use disorder and behavioral health professionals.
